9 Ways To Love the Skin You’re In

1. Know That You Are 1 of 1

You are exclusive! You are the only one of you there is and, that is totally unique and awesome! There’s no other brain, physical body or spirit exactly like yours. There’s no right or wrong way to look or features to have. We are all beautifully created by God which makes our individuality amazing.

You cannot be duplicated. You are unique. There is no one else like you on this planet!

2. Eat Healthy

Love on your body by being cautious of what you put in it. Feed it natural, whole foods that will fuel your body. When you consume junk food and sodas all of the time, it can make you feel sluggish and lazy. It also sets you up for potential health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc. Nothing is wrong with indulging from time to time but be sure your body is mainly getting those healthier options so that you can continue to look and feel great!

3. LAUGH!

Laughter is truly medicine. There is nothing like having a giggle session with your friends and loved ones. You know! The ones where you laugh until you can barely breathe and tears are rolling from your eyes!

4. Good Vibes Only

Let go of any person or thing that comes with negativity and brings you down. NOBODY has the right to make you feel bad about yourself. Let those people go! When negative energy is brewing, try not to let it get to you and distrust your peace. Have a plan! Whether it is to talk it out with a friend or to simply identify it for what it is and release it.

5. Focus on Your Positives

We all have things, physically or non, that we wish we could change about ourselves. Rather than obsessing over what you’d like to change, focus on what you do like about yourself. Uplift yourself! Calling out the attributes you LOVE or the things you ARE great at builds confidence. We need to have that positive mental attitude.

Take time out to be amazed at yourself!

6. Exercise

As we know, exercising releases endorphins. Endorphins make us feel good and happy inside! Staying active also aids in your health. So make sure you’re getting enough exercise to help keep your body healthy which is an important part of loving the skin you’re in.

7. Find Your Tribe

Who we surround ourselves with is so undeniably important! Surround yourself with people who see your beauty, inside and out, and who encourage you to be your best self. Your tribe should consist of those who elevate your spirit, are like minded and encouraging. Those who pour life into you and pray for your health, success, prosperity, happiness and so much more.

8. End Your Day With Good Thoughts

Close out your day with a positive thought that has nothing to do with your physical appearance. Think about a time in the day when you were kind, had great intentions, or were helpful. Let that resonate! Of course every day won’t be your best. When those days come, acknowledge them, forgive yourself and do better the next day.

9. Style

Of course I couldn’t end this post without talking about style. Haha! But honestly for me, what I put on and how I wear my clothing is an interpretation of me. Everyone has their own story. Whether fashion is something you are into or not, I feel you should always be comfortable and confident in what you put on. From simple and basic pieces to wild and fun colors and prints, it’s your authentic and true style. Let confidence build each time you recognize that the way you dress is your way. And that is also how you love the skin you’re in!

SPRING Into Style

Spring is finally here! Time to put away those sweaters and scarfs! I’m SPRINGing into style with one of my fav fashion trends. Mini dresses! So light and fun. Now that it’s finally warming up, it’s time to give your wardrobe a little refresh.

The key for me this Spring is to be comfortable, stylish and free!

This ruffle hemmed mini dress is giving me exactly that! I love the colors and the asymmetric dimensions. I got this mini from a boutique called Sonyabees. Anytime I want something different and unique I shop at small boutiques. They tend to have more exclusive pieces and a smaller selection of each item.

Also, the way you style a piece gives an exclusive look. I chose this pink chunky belt from Random & Chic Boutique. They have super cute apparel as well. I really love their unique, vintage items. It’s so cool because they showcase their new inventory on Sundays at 7 pm. I’m always tuned in to see what’s going to drop on the site.

A hand bag goes a long way and always takes a look to another level! This mustard bag can be worn on your wrist and it also has a strap for your shoulder or to wear as a cross body! My shoes are perspex mule style heels to add to the color scheme.

Light, feminine dresses will definitely be one of my go tos’ for the Spring! Look at the movement in this dress! So fun and effortless.

Check out the boutiques I mentioned. I’m certain they will have something you love.

Colour POP

I can’t get enough of bright and bold colors!! They aren’t just something you wear but they convey to others that you have a vibrant and fun personality. Bold colors are a statement that immediately establishes your presence!

This hot pink blazer dress is spunky and daring! I really like how the red belt adds some color blocking to this outfit. Color blocking can be done in many ways. One can be monochromatic by choosing one color and layering its different shades and tones (rose, light pink, fuchsia) . Second could be contrasting tones. Colors that are on the opposite ends of the color wheel or rainbow (purple and yellow or red and blue). Third could be mixing shades from the same color family. These are the ones that are near each other on the color wheel or rainbow (red and orange or purple and blue).

Here, I’ve color blocked using option 3: shades from the same family. The blocks of color in this this outfit creates an eye catching look. If you’ve never stepped outside of the box with your colors, give it a try! Don’t miss out on an adventurous and spirited way to express your personality.

My accessories for this “block party”( you see what I did there?! Lol) are bold earrings that consist of the same 2 colors I chose for the color blocked dress. I also threw neutral colors into the mix with my black ankle boots and grey crossbody. These red, cat eye sunnies are one of my favs from Quay.

Targét

Usually when fall/winter comes in we pull out all of our dark, muted tones. As the temperature drops and you start to drag during these seasons, add some energy to your wardrobe with vibrant, upbeat hues. Adding pops of color will surely change your mood and affect others around you. Try it out and let me know how it goes!

The new year is swiftly approaching and I know some of you are still asking yourselves “what am I going to wear?!” No worries! Here are a couple of looks to help inspire you. Up first we have this velvet meets sequin, high neck midi from Zara. Velvet and sequins are a hit this holiday season. I have styled this midi with some sleek black ankle boots and golden shell earrings. I also tried something new with my hair! My low curly ponytail was a breeze and is super cute and classy. I am definitely feeling this style and myself ! Ha!

Mix it up!!

Hey y’all!! I hope everyone is fired up and ready for a new week!! I must say this weekend was super busy for me. Between holiday parties, Christmas shopping packing to go home, and working, I don’t know if I’m going or coming. Ha!! But I am definitely stepping into this week with great expectations and a purpose driven attitude.

So I love a good mix and match! I’m wearing this sweatshirt with rose colored, faux fur puffs. I’ve mixed it up with a pleated skirt which is one of the season’s must haves for a fashionista! Juxtaposing contrasting textures is always eye-catching and it worked perfectly with this look. The sweatshirt and combat boots balance out the more soft and feminine olive pleated skirt. I’ve also scrunched my knee high socks. Long socks are a cool and fun way to style up your boots.

This combo is comfortable and effortless. Try mixing up your next look!!

Falalalala PLAID!

Plaid is a fun print and it does not have to be worn as just a flannel or button down! You can add an urban twist to your wardrobe with this print in so many different styles. Plaid comes in a large varieties of color combinations so just know that you do not have to limit yourself when it comes to this trendy print. Here I am sporting this winter green, plaid 2 piece from Azwell Boutique. My nude, scrunch neck bodysuit is from Zara and it sets this combo off, adding more to the color scheme.

But wait!! What girl doesn’t love a red lip?!……..My rep lip and red Steve Madden pumps makes this look pop! It’s perfect for the holiday season as well. My sunnies are High Key in black/fade from Quay Australia and they put me into action. I’m ready to take on the world in these!

Suited!

Suits. Are. In!! This RED HOTT double breasted suit is bomb! It’s from one of my favorite sites, Kloset Envy. When I tell you the fit is everything! The trousers stretch around the waist so it hugs just right. I jazzed my look up with a lace bodysuit and dainty black and gold earrings. This is the perfect bossed up, chic look and the color is perfect for the Holi-SLAY season. I’ve been tapping into my inner boss babe this month because I am looking forward to jumpstarting major moves for the upcoming year. 2019, here I come!

HOUNDS|TOOTH

Okay guys! So I am totally feeling Houndstooth print for this season. This print can never go out of style and is the perfect combo for any occasion. I decided to pair this Houndstooth dress with a classic white blouse from SheIn. I absolutely love the bell sleeves on this blouse! This mini dress is from Forever 21. The crimson accent color in the Houndstooth is just enough to add a little flava! To top this look off, I had to pull out my all time fav oxblood booties from ALDO. They are super cute, comfy and I love that they lace up.

Restyling Classics : Fall +Fur Edition

Fur stoles are the perfect fall accessory to accent any look! I’ve styled my stole with the Rust Extreme Plunge Crepe jumpsuit from House of CB. I bought my fur stole from The Real Real. It is an online luxury consignment shop with a large range of designer products.

The nude, pointed sole shoes are from Nasty Gal. I’ve had them for some time now. They are my old faithfuls.

Living My Life Like It’s Golden

I just love to get all dolled up and dressy! This beautiful gown is from a boutique called Azwell. Ironically, Azwell is a boutique that opened while I was in college and I just had to work there! So I applied and got the job. They have a wide variety of clothing and they are all so bomb! I would barely have a check left after purchasing new merchandise that I of course felt I “had to have.” I went to my hometown a couple of weeks ago and went to their store. I saw this dress and thought this will be perfect for one of my birthday looks! The gold mesh and sequins were giving me old Hollywood vibes. But wait! Can we talk about this split though?! The high side split added just enough grown and sexy for me.

The long deep maroon earrings with gold accent are also from Azwell. I can’t get enough of tassel earrings. They have been trending all year long and they compliment just about any look.
